6th annual Grinch Games will be December 16th 2017 at J19. 

This is event is for members at 205, Sky Soldiers, J19 and invited guest's.  If you have someone that you would like to invite please let Kelly know.  

Grinch Games is a half day event.  We will start at 8:30 and finish by 12:30 at the latest. 

Here is how it works:

Format: Teams will consist of four athletes selected by Kelly O. in an attempt to make teams as even as possible.  This event is designed for all athletes to have a great time and get to know others from the community.  If you are currently attending our regular classes then you are prepared to have some fun. 

All participants get a long sleeve T-shirt. 

WODs - 

Event 1 - 8 Minutes to find max deadlift. Score will be team total.

Event 2 - The Obstacle Course For Time

1. All team members over the climbing wall any way possible.
2. There will be 4 D balls at each station 100, 75, 50, 20. The movement will be ball from the ground and over the shoulder. Each time a ball is lifted over the shoulder the team will get the weight of the ball in points. The team will be required to lift a total of 5000 pounds before advancing to the next station. 
3. As a team flip large tire approximately 200'.
4. Tire drag. There will be a climbing rope attached to a large tire. The Team will be required to drag the tire approximately 100 meters. 
5. Pick up 275 LB worm and carry approximately 100 Meters.
6. 10 Synchronized burpees over the worm.

Do everything in reverse.

Event 3 - The Grinch

Min 1-5 - Each member will be on a rower and the team will accumulate max calories.

Min 5-15 Two athletes work at a time.

Each team will have one squat rack. Accumulate 15,000 total pounds of back squats. Athletes pick weight and each squat scores based on weight. Switch as needed. If 15,000 pounds is not completed each pound will deduct a point from total score. Once 15,000 is complete that athlete is free to participate in the other part of the workout.

Remaining athletes complete

10 Min AMRAP - One athlete works at a time.

30 Box overs
30 Wall Balls
10 HSPU

*There will also be an optional assault bike accumulating max calories. Each calorie will be a point.

Date: Saturday, December 17th 2016

Place: J19 Fitness

Time: 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM

Format: Teams will consist of four athletes selected by Kelly O. in an attempt to make teams as even as possible.  This event is designed for all athletes to have a great time and get to know others from the community.  If you are currently attending our regular classes then you are prepared to have some fun. The proceeds of the event will go to the purchase of 1 assault bike for J19 and 1 for 205. 

All participants get a long sleeve T-shirt. 

WODs - 

Event 1

4 x 400 Meter relay Farmer Carry 35/26 - Each athlete will run one leg.

While one athlete is running the remainder of the team will be completing ME of the following movements. One athlete will be working at a time on these movements.   The movements will be completed in order and will change when the runner returns from the 400 meters. 

There will be a score for the total of the relay and total reps accumulated. 

Air Squats

Box Jumps 24/20

Burpees

Event 2

4 x 100 Meter Relay

This will be a 100 meter sprint to hand off a baton to an athlete waiting at the 100 meter mark. 

Score will be time. 

The GRINCH

5 Stations 5 Mins per station 1 minute transition

Station 1 -  Max stone over shoulder. There will be 3 stones at each station 50 - 75 - 100.  2 athletes working at a time. Score will be weight x reps

Station 2 - Max Back Squat

Station 3 - Max Reps Burpee Box Over Box - 1 athlete must be hanging from bar for burpees to count. 

Station 4 - Max of complex 1 power clean and 1 TNG Squat Clean

Station 5 - Each station will have 1 assault bike and 1 Rower - Score will be total cals

Theme : Whomanity

Format: Teams will consist of four athletes selected by Kelly O. in an attempt to make teams as even as possible.  This event is designed for all athletes to have a great time and get to know others from the community.  If you are currently attending our regular classes then you are prepared to have some fun.

WODs -

WOD 1 - Obstacle Course For time:

Climb over wall 5 total times as a team.  Pick up worm as a team and carry to the next station (Approx 100 meters)  Drag Tire with rope attachment (Approx 100 meters) Flip tire approx 50 Meters.  Do the same course in reverse. 

WOD 2 - Max Accumulative Team Clean and Jerk.

WOD #3 THE GRINCH

5 Mins

Max Load Deadlift with heaviest C&J weight of WOD 2.  (The weight will be the same as your heaviest team members C&J)  It will be based on weight and not reps.  Deadlifts can be partner deadlifts.  

At the same time deadlift is happening one member of the team will also be accumulating max effort double unders. Singles will be 3 to 1.  You can switch athletes at anytime.

Grinch Games 2014


Date : December 20th, 2014 

Place: J19 Fitness

Time: 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM - Christmas party to follow 

Theme : "99 problems but a Grinch ain't one"

Format: Teams will consist of four athletes selected by Kelly O. in an attempt to make teams as even as possible.  This event is designed for all athletes to have a great time and get to know others from the community.  If you are currently attending our regular classes then you are prepared to have some fun.

2014 Grinch Games WODS. 

WOD #1 4 X 400 Meter Relay For Time - 1 Member will run 400 meters and tag another when complete.  All four members must run a leg of the 400. 

WOD #2 8:00 Mins to find a cumulative team power clean max.  It can be any type of clean.  Each team will have a female and male bar. Only one person can lift at a time.  At the beginning of the 8th minute, the entire team will complete max rep burpees in 3 minutes. 

The score will be clean max plus total number of burpees. 

Wod #3  10 Min time cap

2 Members can work at a time.

Back Squat a total poundage of 12,000 (total subject to change).  This may be broken up by any weight and rep scheme. Only one member can back squat at a time. The 12000 pounds must be completed in the the allotted time or every pound less will be deducted from total score. 

The other member will be performing max reps of the following exercises. 

Double Unders

KB Swings - 53/35 

Wall Ball Shots - 10/9   20/14   - Each rep must start with a squat with hip crease breaking the plane of the top of the knee. The ball must cover the target. 

The score will be total reps completed of Double Unders, Kettle Bell Swings  and Wall Balls.
